"This piece confronts the rage I carry from childhood trauma—hurt that led to years of self-destruction and digression. Drawing from the Alice in Wonderland aesthetic, the Red Queen became one of my vessels for exploring anger, survival and the masks I’ve constructed. The roses splattered against the wall echo that desperate act of painting the roses red—the exhausting performance of meeting impossible standards, of faking normalcy while carrying wounds underneath the surface. It’s my raw interpretation of how trauma has shaped my identity and the fury that lives in unhealed places."
Bristol smooth paper 28×20 with frame.
media: charcoal, graphite, proffesional colored pencil, ink.
